OneQuantum Africa Summit Day 2, today May 13 @ 2pm SAST/CAT/GMT+2
Quantum Sensing and Metrology, Quantum Communications and Quantum Key Distribution with a panel discussion on how to move quantum forward in Africa
Hi everyone,
What a great day we had for our Africa kick-off yesterday with a total of 321 participants. Thank you to everyone who joined us! We are delighted by your enthusiasm and support.
Bob Sutor from IBM got us off with a great learning session and discussion on quantum computing. We also learned about areas where quantum technologies are likely to make an impact first in the African context. From the conversations that I had during the cocktail hour, I can confidently say it was an amazing day, and every talk brought new knowledge and great observations to many.
We are excited about today, where we shift gear and look at other quantum technologies beyond quantum computing. This time we focus on quantum sensing and metrology, quantum communications, and quantum key distribution, so, don’t miss out, please register here-
A quick note to attract your attention to the last day of our OneQuantum Africa Summit today:
Start with a learning session on Introduction to Quantum Sensing and Metrology, Quantum Communication and Quantum Key Distribution by Yaseera Ismail at 2 pm CAT/GMT+2/SAST
Followed by a keynote by Sarah Kaiser: Quantum education and workforce development
Two lightning talks by leading quantum tech leaders from the continent on Quantum Sensing and Metrology + Quantum Communications, QRNG, QKD, and PQC technologies, all framed to highlight Opportunities and Challenges for Africa
A panel discussion on What it takes to make quantum succeed in Africa featuring people from the continent working in different roles in tech
And we will have a Career Fair Introduction
And of course, our infamous networking where we all have an opportunity to forge new business relationships and friendships
I met 10 people during the cocktail hour yesterday, it is a pleasure to meet all of you and learn about your past and future.
I look forward to meeting more of you today!
